From conspiratorial conversations in windowless rooms, to a fighter pilot plunged into hostile waters, these films will keep your mind ticking over with questions. With film-makers cleverly selecting which slices of life to include, and which to omit, this is a programme that explores the motivations and reasons behind our actions, and the importance of that which remains unseen.
From outstanding and original Vietnamese drama to thoughtful Swiss Animation and off-beat Italian Sci-Fi: Including the Cannes 2019 Best Short winner, the BAFTA Scotland 2019 winner and the winner of Fantoche Animation Festival 2019.

These British shorts explore modern dating in ways that will shock, surprise and scintillate
“The course of true love never did run smooth,” as Shakespeare wrote in 1605, and if it was true in an age of codpieces and hoop skirts it’s even truer in one of dating apps and deal-breakers. These British shorts explore modern dating in ways that will shock, surprise and scintillate, tackling both the lighter side of love and lust and the dark side and dangers of meeting someone new.

Cameron Post (Chloe Grace Moretz) looks the part of a perfect US high school girl. But after she is caught with another girl in the back of a car on prom night, Cameron is quickly shipped off to a conversion therapy centre that treats teens struggling with same-sex attraction. At the facility, Cameron is subjected to outlandish discipline, dubious de-gaying methods, and earnest Christian rock songs but this unusual setting also provides her with an unlikely gay community. For the first time, Cameron connects with peers, and she is able to find her place among fellow outcasts.
Preceded by short film My Loneliness is Killing Me, written by Michael Richardson and directed by Southside filmmaker Tim Courtney. When Elliott lures the animalistic Jack to his apartment for a late night hook up, he unexpectedly unearths a dark emotional connection.
